Something is wrong.
Lord Voldemort and Mr. Sinister haven’t been themselves, much to the confusion of their legions of followers. Hogwarts has been dealt the death of Albus Dumbledore. Jean Grey, no longer possessing the Phoenix Force, must now contend with Madelyne Pryor, who is posing as Jean's long-lost twin. Little do the X-Men know that Maddy is actually Jean’s clone, created by Mr. Sinister to spy on the X-Men and cause distrust in the group’s inner ranks.
Two unlikely alliances rise from the chaos.
Magneto and Mr. Sinister join forces to assist in the resurrection of a force capable of ultimate destruction; while the X-Men, Brotherhood, and Order of the Phoenix unite to defeat the coming darkness.
